How do I remove the ignition switch in a 1998 chevrolet cavalier?

Car was totalled. Have to remove and change the ignition in my car. I need istructions on how to do this. How do I remove the ignition switch in a 1998 chevrolet cavalier?
There are two switches. The key lock cylinder and actual switch 180 degrees to the left of that, on the left side of the steering column. You need a special tool to remove the switch.

First, remove the steering column cover with 3 bolts at the bottom, facing the floor. Remove tilt lever if equipped. Now insert the key, turn to on position. From the instrument cluster side, insert a small screw driver or tiny punch to push in the retainer, like a door knob bolt in a house, and pull the cylinder out.

Unplug only one electrical connector for the cylinder, or two for the switch. Do not touch yellow wires or any airbag components, though they might have inflated, still be careful, you didn't say, and they keep a minimal amount of power even with a smashed battery.
